CINCINNATI, Ohio – Northern Kentucky women's tennis fell to cross-river foe Xavier Friday afternoon, 6-1. With the setback, NKU drops to 2-2 on the season while the Musketeers improve to 2-2.
Match Notables
- Xavier claimed the opening point with wins in No. 1 and 3 doubles.
- The Musketeers clinched the match with straight-set victories in No. 6, 5 and 4 singles while also claiming wins in No. 3 and 2 singles.
- Margita Sunjic claimed NKU's lone point, downing Anna Roggenburk in the No. 1 spot. She came out on top in three sets, 6-3, 5-7, 11-9. Sunjic moves to 3-1 in singles action this year.
- Elizabeth Rozin took down Xavier's Emily Thomas in the first set of No. 3 singles, 6-2, before falling in the second set, 6-1, and the deciding pro set, 1-0(6).
The Norse return to action with the men next Saturday, Feb. 8 against Thomas More. First serve is set for 5:30 p.m. from Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
