HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's women's tennis will head to Indiana for a Friday evening matchup against Ball State after almost a three-week break. Action begins at 6 p.m. in Muncie.
The women most recently blanked Thomas More, 7-0, advancing to 3-2 overall on the season. NKU dominated in the singles matchups, with multiple Norse earning 6-0 results.
Hannah Watton and
Autumn Clark both pulled away with a pair of 6-0 wins in each of their sets in the No. 5 and No. 6 singles play, respectively.
The Cardinals hold a 6-2 overall record, with their two losses coming against Louisville and in their most recent matchup against Indiana. Ball State also took on and blanked two Horizon League opponents, IUPUI and Oakland, 7-0. Their schedule similarly features a win against Norse opponent, Western Kentucky, 5-2. NKU defeated WKU earlier in the season, 6-1. Freshman Jessica Braun has been an important asset to Ball State so far this season, going 5-2 in singles play, with six of those matches on the No. 1 court. Braun also earned the MAC Singles Player of the Week, being the only Cardinal to win an award this season.
The two teams have only met up one time, on January 26, 2019, when the Cardinals claimed a 4-3 victory over the Norse.
