CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky women's tennis moved to 3-2 on the season after defeating nearby Thomas More, 7-0. The Saints drop to 2-3 overall.
Match Notables
- The Norse dominated the singles matchups to take the opening point, blanking Thomas More on the No. 2 and 3 courts. In the No. 2 doubles match, Ananya Kothakota and Autumn Clark took down Alyssa Dowdell and Kayla Snyder, while Hannah Watton and Katja Dijanezevic won over Matison Perry and Lacey Pohlman.
- Dijanezevic was the first to finish singles action, downing Snyder in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
- Elizabeth Rozin added a win on the second flight, winning the first set over Kimberly Sabga, 6-0, before her opponent retired.
- Kohtakota provided the clinching point out of the No. 4 court, defeating Dowdell, 6-1, 6-2.
- Both Watton and Clark had a pair of 6-0 victories in each of their sets. Watton claimed a win over Perry in No. 5 singles while Clark won the No. 6 matchup over Jana Riffe.
- Maria Koo added the final point for the Norse, defeating Brooke Warden 6-4 in the top flight before her opponent retaliated with a 6-4 second-set win. Koo won the deciding pro set, 1-0(5).
The Norse will take nearly a three-week hiatus before their next competition, when NKU heads to Ball State for a 6 p.m. match on Firday, Feb. 28
