Molly Glick and sophomore
Ally Niece were both named to the All-Horizon League Second Team, marking the first time since the 2014-15 season that NKU has had two all-league performers, while
Ivy Turner was named to the all-freshman team.
Glick, who was a preseason second-team selection, was second on the team in scoring with 9.7 points per game during the league slate. The redshirt-senior guard has been NKU's top scorer from beyond the arc for much of her career, draining 27 triples against league opponents to rank 10
th in the Horizon League. Glick led the Norse in scoring in five league contests and had eight double-digit scoring efforts. Going into the postseason, she sits third all-time in the NKU record books with 203 made 3-pointers and is 20 points away from cracking the top-20 in scoring with 1,231 points.
Niece, an all-freshman team honoree a season ago, led the Norse with 12.6 points and 3.9 assists per game, ranking 10
th and third in the league, respectively. The sophomore point guard led NKU's scoring efforts in seven games, with 10 double-digit performances, including three 20-point outings. In the last five games of the season, Niece averaged 17.4 points and 5.0 assists per game, shooting 45.1 percent from the field.
Turner, who has twice been honored as the Horizon League Freshman of the Week, has been indispensable to the Norse in her rookie campaign. The freshman averages a team-high 30.7 minutes per game while providing a balanced stat line of 8.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, while also leading the Norse with 1.3 steals per game. Turner led the Norse in scoring twice during the league season, with a double-digit effort in five games.
Northern Kentucky heads into the postseason as the No. 4 seed in the Horizon League Championship after posting its most successful Horizon League record at 12-6. The Norse will host No. 9 Detroit Mercy on Tuesday, March 3 at 7 p.m.
