HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky women's basketball continues its opening home stand Sunday, Nov. 14 as the Norse will host Eastern Kentucky inside BB&T Arena.

FAST BREAK POINTS
• Northern Kentucky was defeated in its season opener Wednesday evening by Kent State, 80-73. 
Lindsey Duvall recorded 27 total points in the season opener against the Golden Flashes. Duvall has now scored in double-digits in every single game she has played for the Norse. 
Grayson Rose knocked down four total three-pointers in game number one of the 2021-22 season, tying her career-high. Rose last hit four threes on Jan. 31, 2019 against IUPUI. 
• Kenney Igo also tied a career-high in this contest, totaling six assists versus KSU. Igo last dished out six assists a season ago against Wright State in the Horizon League quarterfinals. 
• With Northern Kentucky falling to Kent State, the Norse are now 33-15 all-time in season opening games. NKU is 20-9 overall in season opening games at home now as well. 
• The Norse were picked to finish fourth in the Horizon League Preseason Coaches Poll.
• Duvall and Ivy Turner each continued to receive conference accolades with Duvall earning Horizon League Preseason All-League First Team and Turner getting an All-League Second Team nod. 
• Freshman Khamari Mitchell-Steen netted her first career points in a Norse uniform against Kent State on a driving layup during the second quarter. 
• Rose continues to work her way up the all-time ranks at NKU in total blocks, where she sits at number four. After recording four total against the Golden Flashes, she increased her total to 120, just 12 behind Janet Brungs (132) who is in third all-time. 
 
SCOUTING EASTERN KENTUCKY
EKU opened the 2021-22 season with a win over Transylvania University, 74-51.  The Colonials saw three in double-figure scoring with Kayra Freeman scoring 11 points, and Bria Bass and Kalissa Lacy each recording 10 points each. Ariel Kirkwood posted a solid stat line of eight points, 14 rebounds and three blocks in the win as well. Eastern Kentucky returns two additional top players from the 2020-21 season in redshirt-senior Jayla Johnson and redshirt-freshman Alice Recanati. 
 
SERIES STUFF
The Norse lead the all-time series against the Colonials 9-5. The most recent game between NKU and EKU was on Nov. 6, 2019, as the Colonials defeated the Norse 69-62 in Richmond, Kentucky. These two programs met frequently during the 1970's and 80's, playing a total of 13 times throughout the two decades.
