HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's Lindsey Duvall, Ivy Turner and Grayson Rose each received end-of-season award the Horizon League office announced on Tuesday afternoon. Duvall earned a spot on the All-Horizon League Second Team, while Turner was named to the third team and Rose garnered recognition on the all-defensive team.
Duvall averaged a team-high 16.1 points per contests, shooting 42 percent from the field and knocking down 37 percent from deep as well as 79 percent at the free throw line
The Mt. Washington, Kentucky, native provided more than just scoring this season for the Norse. With 127 boards and 7.5 caroms a game, she was the co-leader in rebounds on the season. She also registered five double-doubles. Duvall dropped a season-high 27 points against Oakland on Feb. 19.
Turner ended the campaign averaging 11.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists throughout the 17 contests. The sophomore guard's shooting average jumped from 40 percent in all games to 46 percent against league opposition, equating to a bump up to 11.9 points per outing in league play. The native of Danville, Kentucky, also reached double figures in the scoring column seven of the final eight games of the regular-season.
Rose was a standout for the Norse on the defensive end this year. She started 13-of-17 games and grabbed 5.6 boards per contest, with 3.9 of them coming on the defensive end. The senior center out Garrettsville, Ohio, also managed to grab 0.4 steals and a team-high 1.5 blocks per outing, good for second-best in the league. Along with the defensive accolades, Rose contributed 8.0 points per game.
Northern Kentucky was 7-10 on the year and 7-5 in Horizon League play, claiming the No. 8 seed in the Horizon League Tournament. NKU hosts No. 9 Robert Morris on Thursday, Feb. 25, at BB&T. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. (ET).
