CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky women's tennis team got their first win of the season by taking down Western Kentucky 4-1 on Saturday evening. Northern Kentucky starts its season 1-0 while Western Kentucky drops to 1-4.  
  
Match Notables  

• The Norse dominated in singles play but were unable to pick up any wins in doubles. No. 2 Autumn Clark and Ananya Kothakota fell to Tristen Bryant-Otake and Lauren Joch (6-1), Hannah Watton and Elizabeth Rozin lost to Laura Bernardos and Samantha Martinez (6-2), leaving No. 1 Maria Koo and Margita Sunjic to abandon their match with Cora-Lynn Von Dungern and Lisa Friess. 
• Despite the tough losses in the doubles matches, four of the six Norse finished their opponents in two sets in each match. Rozin started off the streak winning the No. 3 match (6-1, 6-3). 
• Following Rozin, Sunjic bested her opponent in a pair of (6, 3) set wins. 
• Kothakota followed, winning (6-1, 6-4), and Koo finalized the Norse victory, conquering her opponent (6-2, 7-6).  
• No. 5 Sylvia Gray was up in her first Norse match (2-6, 7-6, 3-2) and No. 6 Hannah Watton competed in a close match (7-5, 6-6) before both were abandoned. 
  
   
  NKU travels across the river to Cincinnati, Ohio, for its next matchup, taking on Xavier on Friday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.
