SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Northern Kentucky women's golf team is positioned in 11
th place after the first of three rounds for the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate at Tennessee Tech.
Delaney Welsh shot a career-low, three-over 74.
Team Tidbits
- The Norse posted a score of 321 through the first 18 holes of play.
- The par-five, 14th hole was kind to the Norse as the team was five-under on that hole alone. Emmanuelle Hewson and Brooke Bihl both eagled, while Lillian Young had a tap-in birdie.
Individual Highlights
- Welsh finds herself in a tie for fifth place after a solid showing in the first outing of the 2020-21 season. Her new career-low round of 74 was attributed to a 70-yard pitch in on the second hole for birdie along with 13 pars and four bogeys.
- Freshman Emmanuelle Hewson posted an 80 for her first collegiate round and was followed by senior Lillian Young with an 83.
- Abby Cook was the final countable score for the Norse with an 84.
