Whitney Hay signs with @NKUNorseWBB

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky women's basketball head coach Camryn Whitaker announces the signing of Whitney Hay, a transfer from Belmont who will have four years of eligibility remaining.

"We couldn't be more excited to add Whitney to our family at NKU," exclaimed Whitaker. "She brings size and strength on the perimeter as well as the ability to score in a variety of ways. I look forward to the opportunity to coach her over the next four years!"

In her freshman campaign at Belmont, Hay played 15.9 minutes and averaged 6.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. The 6-foot guard buried 45.1 percent of her 3-point field-goal attempts. Hay posted five double-figure scoring efforts in 19 games played, including a 15-point showing at Morehead State.

The native of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, played at Elizabethtown HS and helped lead the program to district and regional titles in 2019-20, averaging 19 points and more than five assists per game. She was a three-time Kentucky All-State honoree, which included a first team nod as a senior. Hay, a prolific scorer throughout her high school career that racked up 2,302 points, was a top-150 recruit by Prospects Nation and checked in at No. 29 at her position.
