YPSILANTI, Mich. – Northern Kentucky women's tennis opened up its fall season at the Chippewa Club competing in the EMU Hidden Duals tournament featuring Bellarmine, Eastern Michigan and Oakland University.

Match Notables

Friday

• The Norse went 1-1 in doubles against Oakland with Maria Koo and Laura Sola Grau defeating Yasmin Glazbrook and Nirva Patel, 6-0. Ananya Kothakota and Daniela Rosenberger fell short in a close match, 7-6.

• After the doubles matches, NKU took on Bellarmine University with five single matches. Kothakota, Rosenberger and Sola Grau picked up singles wins for the Norse.

• Sola Grau won 7-5, 6-1 over Madison Devillez.

• Kothakota dominated Morgan Whitlock in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-0.

• Following Kothakota, Rosenberger conquered Channing Varnum, 6-2 and 6-0.

Saturday

• To start off the second day of the tournament NKU won both of its doubles matches, 1-1, with both Bellarmine and Eastern Michigan. Kothakota/ Rosenberger dominated Bellarmine, 6-2, while Koo/ Grau defeated Eastern Michigan, 6-4.

• In the first single match session, the Norse went 2-2 against Eastern Michigan.

• Koo took down Isabelle Popma, 6-0, 6-3 to secure the first point. Following Koo, Kothakota defeated Sabina Brichakova, 7-5, 6-3, to clinch the win against Eastern Michigan.

• Koo picked up a dominant win over Yasmin Glazbrook of Oakland 6-2, 6-0, followed by a retired match win by Sola Grau, finishing her opponent 4-1.

• Kothakota then finished off Friday's competition for the Norse with a win over Nirva Patel, 6-4, 6-2
