NORSE Breakdown
• Northern Kentucky returns to BB&T Arena this week with a pair of Horizon League matchups. First the Norse will host Milwaukee on Thursday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m., followed by hosting Green Bay on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m.
• NKU extended their winning streak to nine games last week, with back-to-back victories over Wright State, snapping a 14-game losing skid that dated back to 1987 for the Norse.

Khamari Mitchell-Steen was named the Nike® Horizon League Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week for the week of Jan. 17 - Jan. 123 after posting back-to-back double figure scoring efforts, including a career-high 23 points, in the wins over Wright State.
• NKU currently sits at 13-3 overall with a 7-2 record in Horizon League play. This is the best all-time start in the NCAA Division l era for the Norse, and the best Horizon League start for Northern Kentucky as well.
• Duvall continued her incredible streak of scoring in double-digits in a Norse uniform as she finished with 11 points at Wright State. Her streak is now up to 35 consecutive games.
• Duvall currently ranks second overall in the Horizon League in scoring average with 18.8 points per game. Duvall is first in the conference in total points however, with 300. She also leads the league in three-pointers made with 37.

Grayson Rose currently leads the Horizon League in rebounding with 10.4 boards per game, and leads in the conference in total rebounds with 166. She additionally leads the conference in total blocked shots with 42, and leads in block shots per game at 2.6 this season.
• Rose is tied for 14th overall in the nation in total blocks with 42. She is also tied for 12th in the country in blocks per game at 2.62. She has been a force on the glass this season, ranking 38th in the nation in total rebounds with 166. She ranks 31st overall in rebounds per game with at 10.4 as well.
• Mitchell-Steen currently ranks tied for second overall in the Horizon League in total steals with 33.

Ivy Turner posted her 14th overall game of scoring in double-digits this season with 17 points in the home win over Wright State. Turner has scored 17 points in three consecutive games now.

Kailee Davis was named the Nike Horizon League Freshman of the Week during the week of Jan. 10-16.
• Turner was named the Nike Horizon League Player of the Week during the week of Nov. 20-28.
• Duvall was named the Nike Horizon League Player of the Week during the week of Dec. 6-12 and during the week for Dec. 27-Jan. 2.
• Duvall and Turner each received conference accolades with Duvall earning Horizon League Preseason All-League First Team and Turner getting an All-League Second Team nod.
• The Norse were picked to finish fourth in the 2021-22 Horizon League Preseason Coaches Poll.
• The Norse finished the 2020-21 season eighth overall in the Horizon League. NKU defeated Robert Morris in the first round of the conference tournament before falling to rival and number one seed Wright State in the quarterfinals.
Last Time Out
Northern Kentucky women's basketball team picked up their ninth consecutive win by taking down rival Wright State on the road, 82-79. The last time Northern Kentucky swept the season series against Wright State was during the 1986-87 season, which was also the year the Norse defeated the Raiders on the road. The Norse with a current record of 13-3 is the best start to a season since the 2008-09 year where Northern Kentucky went 16-0. Mitchell-Steen's 14 points tonight is the second highest of her career, and her second consecutive game scoring in double-figures.
Scouting the Panthers
Milwaukee enters this week after splitting two Horizon League contests, first beating Purdue Fort Wayne 68-56, then falling to Cleveland State 66-57. The Panthers currently sit at sixth overall in the Horizon League with a 6-4 record, and an overall record of 7-10. Leading MKE offensively this year is Megan Walstad at 13.8 points per game. Walstad is the teams leading rebounder as well, averaging 9.0 boards per contest as well. Miquela Santoro, Sydney Staver and McKaela Schmelzer all are averaging over 8.0 points per game for the Panthers this season as well.
Series Stuff
The Norse faced Milwaukee once already this season, falling to the Panthers in Milwaukee by a final score of 61-49 on November 20. Northern Kentucky still leads the all-time series 8-6 overall, and currently hold a 4-2 advantage over Milwaukee when playing in Highland Heights.
