NKU RESULTS
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky track & field team put on a show as the Norse opened the 2023 indoor season with the Commonwealth Opener, down in Louisville, Kentucky at the Norton Sports and Learning Center over the weekend.

NOTABLES
- The NKU women set three new school records in an exciting season-opener.
- Jade Stinson set a new program best in the 500-meter as she posted an 84.91 to place third overall.
- Olivia Kennedy also set a school record with her 1:37.87 performance in the 600-meter that claimed fourth at the meet. The new school best replaces the old mark set in 2018.

Andrea Armstrong made it three school records on the women's side with a 40.09 performance in the 300-meter, a time that took eighth overall. It was a record that has stood since 2019.
- Other standouts include Erin Starkes and Sierra Kendall (third and sixth in the 60-meter hurdles, respectively),
Julia Pohl (fourth in the high jump) and
Erika Nageleisen (fifth in the 600-meter).
- On the day, the NKU women set 19 new personal bests.
- For the men,
Liam Ehrman ran a new school record of 36.39 in the 300-meter to take 25th overall, a mark that has stood since 2018.
- Thomas Gray-Torsell placed second in the 800-meter (2:03.05) and eighth in the 400-meter (53.07) as he set new personal bests in both events.
- The Norse men competed with a smaller group, but still set two new personal records on the day.
- The meet put the Norse student-athletes against Power Five standout programs in Texas, Kentucky and Louisville. On the women's side, Texas finished second, Kentucky third and Louisville 25th in the nation in the final edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Rating Index to close the 2022 outdoor season. For the men, Texas finished second, Kentucky 36th and Louisville 64th in the country to end the 2022 outdoor campaign.

Northern Kentucky will take a short break from competition through the holiday season and returns with the Rod McCravy Invitational, hosted by Kentucky on Friday, Jan. 13 through Saturday, Jan. 14 at Nutter Field House.
