Norse win five events on final day of #HLTF Outdoor Championships, Bittermann, Kruse, honored

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Northern Kentucky University Norse track & field finished off the 2026 Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday. The Norse broke a pair of Championship records, won five events, and a pair of individual awards. The Northern Kentucky women finished in fifth place with 74.5 points, while the men finished with 64 points in sixth place.

NOTABLES (MEN)
Natnael Weldemichael set a new Championship record in the 5K run, finishing in 14:13.88 and earning his second Horizon League title of the meet, as he also won the 10K on Friday night. Following Weldemichael was Colton O'Hara, who finished in fourth in 14:27.41. 
Branton Koroly ran a 56.11 in the 400m hurdles, finishing fifth overall. 
– Christian Stewart and Micah Ward earned points for the Norse in the high jump, both leaping 1.98 meters and finishing in seventh and eighth, respectively. 
Bash Hedger ran a 10.99 in the 100m run, finishing in seventh. 
Jacob Line ran a 3:55.98 in the 1500m run, finishing in eighth place. 
Osayi Ogbebor ran a 15.74 in the 110m hurdles, finishing in eighth. 
Zain Lowery finished eighth in the triple jump, earning a point for the Norse with a personal best jump of 13.92 meters. 
Brayden Holland notched an eighth-place finish in the 800m run, running a 1:54.69. 

NOTABLES (WOMEN)
– Northern Kentucky head coach Steve Kruse was named Horizon League Outdoor Women's Coach of the Year following the meet. 
Cameron Bittermann had another historic meet, as she was crowned Most Outstanding Running Performer after winning a pair of Horizon League Championships. Bittermann won the 400m run in 54.14, setting a new Horizon League Championship record with the run. She then won the 200m race in 24.06, winning by over a half second. 
Sierra Kendall won the 400-meter hurdles in a minute flat, winning the race by over a second and a half. Katlyn Pham followed her in the race in fifth, running a 1:03.52. 
– NKU's 4x400-meter relay squad of Sierra Kendall, Olivia Kennedy, Joi Bradley, and Cameron Bittermann won the event, running a 3:43.86 and winning the race by over two seconds. 
Olivia Kennedy finished in second place in the 800m run, running a 2:11.75. 
Meredith Goff finished in eighth in the 100m run, finishing in 12.20, and sixth in the 200m run, finishing in 24.99. 
Olivia Wingo finished in sixth in the pole vault with a best leap of 3.67 meters, earning three points. 
– Maddie Neary notched a seventh-place finish in the high jump with a best leap of 1.61 meters, earning 1.5 points.
