@NKUNorseWBB's Grayson Rose selected to #HLWBB All-Academic Team

INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky women's basketball graduate senior Grayson Rose was selected to the 2021-22 Horizon League Women's Basketball All-Academic Team announced by the conference Thursday.

A total of five student-athletes were honored in balloting by the League's faculty athletics representatives, recognizing student-athletes for their success both in competition and in the classroom. Five Horizon League institutions are represented among the honorees, including Northern Kentucky, Youngstown State, IUPUI, Purdue Fort Wayne, and Milwaukee.

"I'm so proud of Grayson for her contributions on the court but most importantly for her academic success," said head coach Camryn Whitaker. "She's a true testament to what we want our student-athletes to be!"

Rose, a graduate senior from Garrettsville, Ohio, continues NKU women's basketball's success both on and off the court, as she earns the fifth overall selection to the Horizon League All-Academic Team for the Norse. Grayson currently holds a 4.00 grade point average while pursuing her Master of Arts in Integrative Studies degree, on top of seeing incredible success throughout her career for NKU. Rose currently ranks first all-time in NKU women's basketball history in games played (133), second in blocked shots (177), second in blocks per game (1.3) and ninth overall in total rebounds (802). She is also having her best season in a Norse uniform as she is ranked in multiple stat categories nationally, and currently sits in fourth all-time for NKU for blocks in single season (61).

Previous Norse to have earned this honor include Christine Roush (2015-16), and Kailey Coffey (2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21).

The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with seasonal Academic All-League Teams in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests.
