HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -  Northern Kentucky's Julia Pohl was named Horizon League Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Pohl, a freshman from Winchester, Kentucky, began the 2022 outdoor season with a bang, winning the high jump at the Blizzard Buster Invitational, hosted by Miami (Ohio) University this past week. Julia finished with a mark of 5-feet 7 inches (1.70m) to capture first place and also broke the Northern Kentucky high jump outdoor record in the process. The Norse record had stood since 2016 as well.

The Norse will be back in action beginning on Thursday, March 24 as NKU heads south to compete at the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State. Northern Kentucky will look to continue the successful start to the outdoor season during this three-day meet at Paul Derr Track & Field Facility, which ultimately concludes on Saturday, March 26.
