CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's tennis team improved to 2-4 Friday evening, defeating Saint Francis 6-1 inside the Five Seasons Sports Club.
"Big team effort, Saint Francis is a tough team," said head coach
Brian Nester. "They (SFU) have played a lot of matches and our girls were very efficient with work on the court. Excellent doubles, we controlled, and the results spoke for themselves."
Match Notables
- NKU began the evening taking two of three doubles matches against the Red Flash. The team of Daniela Rosenberger and Elizabeth Rozin defeated Cutipa / Miyake 6-3. Sylvia Gray and partner Ananya Kothakota took down the tandem of Vandeputte / Vinces 6-3 as well.
- In singles, the Norse picked up impressive victories all around as Maria Koo, Laura Sola Grau, Rozin, Gray and Kothakota were all victorious against their Red Flash opponents.
- Both Koo and Gray cruised to singles wins versus Saint Francis with Koo defeating Yeo 6-2, 6-1 and Gray downing Cutipa 6-1, 6-0 to help secure the NKU win.
