Ky. – Northern Kentucky's Women's Basketball's off-season got just a bit brighter this week, as the Norse confirmed the return of both
Lindsey Duvall and
Emmy Souder for the 2022-23 season.

Camryn Whitaker. "The leadership they bring to our team on a daily basis is invaluable, not to mention their contributions on the court. Looking forward to continuing to watch them both grow in their final year as a Norse!"
Duvall, a native of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, anchored NKU in scoring last year, finishing third overall in the conference in points per game at 16.9, and was named to the Horizon League All-League Second Team. Duvall did however lead the Horizon League in total points at 457. Lindsey additionally ranks seventh overall in the league in rebounding, pulling down 7.4 boards per contest. She found herself in multiple top five and top 10 stat categories in the conference including FG made (4th), 3FG made (2nd), total minutes (3rd), and total rebounds (5th). Duvall also posted an incredible streak of scoring in double-digits in every single game she has worn a Northern Kentucky uniform was snapped at UIC (Feb. 1) late during this past season. Her impressive streak lasted 37 consecutive games. Duvall in just her second year cracked the all-time NKU top 50 in total points and ranks second overall in all-time scoring average as well.
Souder, a native of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, helped provide the Norse with just about anything needed on and off the court during the 2021-22 campaign. Souder finished the year starting in all 29 games where she totaled 7.9 points per game, third best this past season for the Norse. She was also third on Northern Kentucky in overall rebounding with 5.4 boards per contest. Souder was a go-to option when NKU needed a bucket during 2021-22 with an impressive shooting percentage of 56.9 overall. She went on to posted nine total games in double-digit scoring, including a dominant performance on the road against Cleveland State where Souder totaled a career-high 22 points against the Vikings on 10-of-17 shooting from the floor.
Norse women's basketball finished the 2021-22 season with an outstanding overall record of 21-8, along with a Horizon League record of 14-6. NKU's 21 victories marked the most all-time for Northern Kentucky women's basketball since becoming a NCAA Division I member. Northern Kentucky's 14 total Horizon League victories was also the most-ever for the women's program since joining the conference. NKU totaled 12 wins just a few years ago during the 2019-20 season.
