@NKUNorseXCTF Earn All-Academic Status From USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS – Northern Kentucky men's and women's track and field continues to excel on and off the track, earning All-Academic status by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) which the organization announced this week. The men's team had a cumulative grade point average of 3.37 and the women's squad posted a GPA of 3.56.

"This is quite the testament of our teams academic commitment," said head coach Steve Kruse. "Each of our student-athletes in our program take their time in the class room very seriously and are backed by an excellent team of academic coordinators within the Athletic Department." Just like in the sport of track & field, nothing is given, everything must be earned. I'm very proud of our teams."

Both the women's and men's programs have received this honor for the eighth overall time, earning it every year that the Norse have been eligible for the award in the NCAA Division I Era for Northern Kentucky. Additionally both the women's and men's squads have earned this award for the 10th time now, regardless of NCAA Division.

"Just like in the sport of track & field, nothing is given, everything must be earned," Kruse continued. "I'm very proud of our teams."

The criteria to be named an USTFCCCA All-Academic Team includes the cumulative GPA (not 2021-22 academic year, not semester) for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, certifiable by either NCAA Faculty Rep or NCAA Compliance Coordinator or Registrar's Office.
