HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Happy Valentine's Day to Norse Nation as NKU Athletics has another jam-packed week on the docket, which includes men's and women's basketball battling for the Horizon League crown, the return of Norse baseball and the Spring seasons continue to roll on for women's tennis and men's golf in the latest edition of Norse Notes.
MEN'S BASKETBALL

The Northern Kentucky men's basketball program hits the road for two important games this week as the Norse head to Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday, Feb. 17 and Cleveland State on Sunday, Feb. 19. Friday's tip against the 'Dons is set for 7 PM ET while Sunday's clash with the Vikings will get underway at 3 PM ET. Both games are available to watch nationwide on ESPN+ and can be heard anywhere in the country on ESPN 1530.
NKU enters the week tied for third in the conference with four games left to go in the regular season. The race for first has turned into a four-way grind as Youngstown State and Milwaukee lead the league at 12-4, followed right behind by Cleveland State and NKU at 11-5.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Norse are back on the road once again this week as NKU will take on the Vikings of Cleveland State and the Mastodons of Purdue Fort Wayne. The first match up against CSU is set to take place on Thursday, Feb. 16 inside the Wolstein Center with tip slated for a 7 PM ET start and will be broadcasted on ESPN+. The Norse and CSU met once already this season in Highland Heights, where Northern Kentucky knocked off the Horizon League leading Vikings by a score of 73-69.
NKU will then make the trip to Fort Wayne, Ind. to face PFW on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 3 PM ET inside the Gates Sport Center. The Norse took down the 'Dons at home earlier this season by a score of 75-69 overall. This upcoming showdown with Purdue Fort Wayne is set to be broadcasted on ESPN3 as well.
BASEBALL

Northern Kentucky baseball is poised to open the 2023 season in a neutral series matchup with the Eagles of Eastern Michigan. The Norse will square off against the MAC program from Hoover, Ala. at the Hoover Met Stadium. Game one is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 17, with first pitch set for 3 PM ET.

Liam McFadden-Ackman. NKU sees a total of 24 newcomers to the square this year as the Norse look to make a splash in the Horizon League in 2023.
WOMEN'S TENNIS

Northern Kentucky women's tennis returns to action this week taking on the Knights of Bellarmine on the road in Louisville. This non-conference bout is set to get underway at 12 PM ET inside the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
The Norse are currently 3-2 overall, coming off a victory over in-state rival Eastern Kentucky. NKU took down the Colonels in their home opener by a score of 4-3.

Northern Kentucky men's golf team kicks off the 2023 spring season at The Savannah Intercollegiate held in Savannah, Georgia. NKU will be playing both Saturday and Sunday at The Club at Savannah Harbor. This two-day tournament will be hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design as well.
