RICHMOND, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's and women's track & field program couldn't have started the year off on a better note as both programs showed out at the EKU Spring Meet as the Norse opened their 2024 outdoor campaign on Friday.
Â
As a group, the NKU women claimed second overall, and the men took third to go with five event wins and countless personal bests.

NOTABLES

Julia Pohl won the women's high jump with a best leap of 1.65-meters. Madison
Neary was right behind her in second overall with a personal record of 1.57-meters.

Kierra Morris also claimed the top prize in the women's long jump with a best mark of 5.21-meters.
Kylie Dilley came in at fifth in the event at 4.24-meters.

Meredith Goff made it three winners on the women's sided as she took the top spot in the women's 100-meter dash at 12.12. Erin Starks was right behind her in third with an outdoor personal best of 12.32.

Natnael Weldemichael won the men's 3000-meter race with a personal record performance of 8:25.26. He was also the top NKU men's finisher in the 1,500-meters with a time of 3:57.22, yet another personal best.

Jared Humphrey claimed the second win of the day on the men's side with a victory in the 400-meter hurdles (59.47).
- The NKU women put on a show in the women's 1,500-meters. The Norse claimed three of the top four spots as
Sophia DeLisio took second (4:47.21),
Jacquelyn Witt placed third (4:50.63) and
Hope Erbach claimed fourth (4:55.63). Both DeLisio and Erbach set new personal records with the performance.
- The Norse women also showed out in the 800-meter run with
Erica Durst in second (2:18.66),
Grace Biddle in third (2:20.52), Erbach in fourth (2:25.32), Witt in fifth (2:25.34) and
Macie Radcliffe in sixth (2:26.18). It was personal record showings by Durst, Biddle and Erbach.

Thomas Gray-Torsell joined the podium squad with a third-place finish of 1:59.03 in the men's 800-meter event.

Aaron Silva took fourth overall in the men's 100-meter dash (11.23) and fifth in the 200-meter dash (22.80). Both were collegiate personal bests for the freshman.

Layla Henderson also took fourth in the women's 3000-meter with a personal record of 9:59.22.

Olivia Kennedy finished sixth overall in the women's 400-meter dash at 58.72.

Andrea Armstrong also ran to a sixth-place finish in the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 25.66.

NEXT UP
It is an exciting week for the Norse as NKU will jump right back into action at the University of Cincinnati's Oliver Nikoloff Invitational that runs Friday, March 29 through Saturday, March 30 at Gettler Stadium.
