ALEXANDRIA, Ky. – It was a day that will go down in the record books for the Northern Kentucky men's and women's track & field program.
First track meet in program history? Check.
Multiple school records and numerous personal bests? Check.
Some of the top performances in the Horizon League so far this outdoor season. Check.
And even a team meet championship for the NKU women? Check and Check.
The running of the Inaugural Norse Track Invitational on Saturday at the Bishop Brossart Mustang Athletic Complex was a day to remember for the Norse, not only as the program prepares for the upcoming outdoor conference championships and a potential NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round, but the meet also served as an important stepping stone for a program that has the largest incoming recruiting class in program history on the way for the 2024-25 campaign.

NOTABLES

Julia Pohl has a record-setting day for herself as she placed second overall in the women's high jump with a best mark of 1.73-meters. The performance not only set a personal best, it was also a school record to go with being tied for first in the event in the Horizon League.

Meredith Goff set yet another personal best and school record with a 11.82 to take the top spot in the women's 100-meter dash. She also won the women's 200-meter dash at 24.35.

Cameron Bitterman won the women's 400-meter dash with a personal record of 57.93. The time clocks in tied for third overall in the conference.

Erin Starks dropped a 14.10 to win the gold in the women's 100-meter hurdles.

Olivia Kennedy continued NKU's winning ways with a victory in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.32.

Natnael Weldemichael won the men's mile with a personal record of 4:16.17.
Jacob Line was right behind in second with another personal best at 4:18.46.

Kierra Morris took home the top prize in the women's long jump with a best leap of 5.30-meters.
- The women's 4x100-meter relay squad of Goff, Bitterman,
Andrea Armstrong and Starks claimed first with a time of 46.59. The time is now the fastest showing so far in the conference. The performance also ranks third all-time in the event in school history.

Thomas Gray-Torsell crossed the line in second in the men's 800-meter run with a 1:58.48.

Summit Northrup also claimed second in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase with a personal best of 10:32.64. The showing is currently 13th in the Horizon League.
- It was another second-place finish and another personal record as
Jared Humphrey claimed second in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.85. He is now ranked fifth in the Horizon in the event overall.

Sophia DeLisio finished third in the women's mile run at 5:05.89. The performance set a new personal record for the standout senior.
NEXT UP
The Norse will get right back to it with the University of Kentucky's Jim Green Invitational that runs Friday, April 19 through Saturday, April 20 at UK's Outdoor Track Facility. Northern Kentucky still has two final tune ups left to finish its preparation for the Horizon League Outdoor Championships in early May.
