WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Northern Kentucky women's tennis program achieved school history as the No. 5 Norse upset No. 4 Milwaukee, 4-3 to advance to the Horizon League Semifinals for the first time in NKU's NCAA Division I era.
It all came down to a third-set tiebreaker at No. 5 singles for the Norse.
Angela Rinaldi completed the comeback with a 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 win to seal the victory for NKU.
Ashlee Fisk (No. 1) and
Catharina Cardoso (No. 6) also picked up big wins in their matches and the squad teamed up to win doubles 2-1 to collected four victories to advance to the semis on Saturday.
