Starks steals the show as Track & Field concludes the Tennessee Invite with huge performances

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Standout sophomore Erin Starks stole the show with a school record performance as the Northern Kentucky men's and women's track & field program concluded their time at the Tennessee Invite on Saturday.
 
To go with Stark's record-setting day, the Norse combined to post some of the best showings in the Horizon League so far this outdoor season, to go with numerous personal bests.

NOTABLES
- Erin Starks put on an absolute show as she shattered the school record in the women's 100-meter hurdles. Twice! The standout sophomore started with a program best 13.86 to claim sixth in the prelims to advance to the finals. In the final round, Starks bested herself and the school record with a 13.76 performance for a fifth-place finish overall in the event. The time, to go with being a school best, is ranked second in the Horizon League, 61st in the East Region and 107th in all of NCAA Division I track & field. - Julia Pohl continued her strong outdoor season as she tied for fifth overall in the women's high jump with a best leap of 1.65-meters as she knocked off student-athletes from much larger programs.
- The women's 4x100-meter squad of Meredith Goff, Cameron Bitterman, Andrea Armstrong and Starks teamed up for an eighth-place finish with a time of 47.26.
- The women's 4x400-meter unit of Armstrong, Bitterman, Olivia Kennedy and Jordan Archie also had a strong day with a ninth-place finish with a mark of 3:52.40. The performance ranks fourth overall in the Horizon.
- Goff also put up an 11th-place showing in the women's 100-meter dash as she crossed the line with a personal best of 11.91. The mark is ranked second overall in the Horizon League.
- Kennedy claimed 16th overall in the women's 800-meter to go with her performance in the relay, with a mark of 2:16.11. It came a day after she took over the top spot in the conference in the women's 200-meter and fourth in the women's 400-meter. Erica Durst was right behind her in 18th at 2:17.40, another personal record. The two showings rank fourth and sixth in the Horizon League.
- Jacob Line posted a personal best in the men's 800-meter as he took 21st overall at 1:56.69. Thomas Gray-Torsell too set a personal record as he crossed the line in 28th at 1:57.39. The two times sit 12th and 13th in the Horizon, respectively.
- Thomas Gray-Torsell also took 34th in the men's 400-meter dash, a time that ranks 14th overall in the conference.
