HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's basketball program and head coach Jeff Hans are excited to announce the first signings of the new era with the additions of Abby Wolterman and Kamora Morgan to the program for the upcoming 2024-25 campaign.
ABBY WOLTERMAN | SIX-FOOT FORWARD | TRANSFER FROM IUPUI
Wolterman is no stranger to NKU and the Horizon League as the standout forward joins the Norse by way of conference foe IUPUI, where she just concluded her second season with the Jaguars.
In 2023-24, the West Chester, Ohio native played in all 30 games with 28 starts. Wolterman averaged 8.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest in 26.4 minutes played per game.
For her IUPUI career, she recorded 335 points, 206 rebounds, 48 assists, 34 steals and 11 blocks over 57 games played. Wolterman shot 51.9 percent from the field, 31.3 percent from beyond the arc and 60.0 percent from the charity stripe.
She was just as successful in the classroom as on the court as she was named to the Horizon League Honor Roll and was a multi-time receipt on the IUPUI Academic Advisor Lists.
"We are excited to add Abby and the Wolterman family to the NKU Norse family," Hans said. "Abby brings not only college but Horizon League experience to our program. She is an efficient scorer who will also help us on the boards. We believe she will make an immediate impact on our program and the Northern Kentucky community."
Prior to IUPUI, Wolterman laced it up with Mount Notre Dame High School and on the club scene with the Cincinnati Angels. She won two high school state titles during her career with Mount Notre Dame.
KAMORA MORGAN | SIX-FOOT GUARD | FORT ERIE INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY
Morgan makes her way to Highland Heights from Fort Erie International Academy out of the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association.
This past year, Morgan, an Oshawa, Ontario native, averaged 11.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.1 steals, 1.7 assists and nearly a block a game, all while shooting 41.1 percent from the floor for Fort Erie.
After her standout season with the program, Morgan was selected to play in the prestigious All Canadian Senior Showcase game as one of the top 24 seniors throughout the entire country of Canada.
Morgan also has the chance to become the first NKU women's basketball student-athlete to represent their home country in international competition as she was also invited to try out for Team Canada. She will be with the team for the next week and awaits a final roster announcement.
"Welcome to the Norse Family, Kamora and the entire Morgan family," Hans said. "Kamora's game will add an explosive, athleticism that will help us push the pace and score at all three levels. She is a perfect fit for us, on and off the court."
