HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky baseball alum
Tanner Gillis has signed with the Milwaukee Brewers, Gillis announced on his Instagram Tuesday.
Gillis played a vital role in NKU's run to the NCAA Tournament this past season, and finished his final collegiate season with an 8-3 record and a 5.00 ERA with 81 strikeouts.
His finest start of the season came vs. Wright State in the Horizon League Tournament, throwing 8.2 innings with 11 strikeouts to push the Norse to the Horizon League Championship Game.
Gillis is the first Norse baseball alum to sign with an MLB team since Griffin Doersching was selected by the San Diego Padres in the eighth round of the 2022 MLB Draft.
The Buffalo, NY native played four seasons at Cedarville (OH) before joining the Norse in 2024. He was named First Team All-Horizon League and was twice named the Horizon League Pitcher of the Week in his lone season in Highland Heights.
