HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -- In a year of of firsts, the Northern Kentucky Women's Triathlon team has been announced as a College Triathlon Coaches Association (CTCA) Scholar All American Team for the 2024 fall championship season. Teams must have a team average of 3.2 GPA or higher in order to achieve this designation. Alisha Detmer, Sophie McEwen, Josie Timmers, and Kelly Villanueva combined for a 3.439 GPA to earn the honor. 
 
In addition to the team Scholar All American designation, team member Alisha Detmer was named an CTCA Scholar All America Honorable Mention. To achieve this honor, student-athletes had to finish with a 3.5 GPA or higher for the fall season while also competing in the Women's Triathlon National Championships in Clermont, Florida. At the women's national championship, Detmer led the Norse to a 30th place overall team finish (13th among NCAA D1 teams) while finishing first in the C wave of the two-day national championship. Detmer finished the fall season with a 4.0 GPA, and was one of 44 Norse student athletes to achieve that academic achievement across all sports.
