HUNTINGTON, W.V. - Northern Kentucky University Norse track & field opened up the indoor season on Saturday, competing at the Marshall Opener. NKU was one of 12 teams at the meet and one of three NCAA Division I teams (Morehead State, Marshall). The Norse had a strong showing to kick off the winter season, winning multiple events and setting a handful of program records.

NOTABLES (WOMEN)

Cameron Bitterman claimed a victory and a program record in the 300m run, beating
Andrea Armstrong's previous record by nearly two seconds with a finish of 38.32.

Olivia Kennedy smashed a program record and won the 500m run, finishing in 1:13.56, beating the previous school record by nine and a half seconds.
- Freshman Olivia Wingo set a new program record in the pole vault, clearing 3.60m on her first attempt. She finished second in the event and also placed inside the top ten in the high jump and the long jump.
- Lizzie Casey won the triple jump with a best mark of 10.88 meters.

Madison Neary finished third in the high jump, leaping 1.58 meters.

Meredith Goff finished second in the 200m run, running a 24.67. She also finished 4th in the 60m run, running a 7.68 in the final.

Lacey Klare finished second in the 60m hurdles, running an 8.91.

Alexandra Newman recorded a best throw of 11.69 meters in the shot put, good for sixth at the meet.
NOTABLES (MEN)
- Bash Hedger set a new program record in the 60m run, finishing in 6.98 seconds in the final. He finished third overall.
- Osayi Ogbebor set a new program record with a qualifying time of 8.42 in the 60m hurdles. He finished sixth overall, running an 8.57 in the final. He also finished fifth in the high jump with a best leap of 1.95 meters.
- Jackson King set a new school record in the 300m run, finishing in 35.73. He notched seventh place in the event.
- Evan Senefeld and
Josh Brockman both reached a best mark of 4.05m in the pole vault, as both now hold the program record.
- Micah Ward set a new program record in the triple jump with a best mark of 13.69m, finishing fifth overall.

Natnael Weldemichael won the 5000m with a time of 14:38.48, and fellow senior
Colton O'Hara followed with a time of 14:46.94.

Brayden Holland ran a 1:05.05 in the 500m run, winning the event.
Preston Winiger followed him up with a time of 1:06.26, finishing in second.

Gregory Beard finished second in the mile, running a 4:22.64.
