HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky baseball team was awarded for its hard work in the classroom on Wednesday, as the Norse were awarded the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award presented by Sports Attack for the second straight year.
Teams from every level of both collegiate and high school baseball were honored. The award highlights programs coached by ABCA members that posted a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the cumulative 2023-24 academic year. Northern Kentucky finished the Spring 2024 semester with a 3.302 GPA.
NKU was one of four Division I schools in Kentucky honored. From a conference perspective, the Norse were one of three Horizon League schools to win the award.
Northern Kentucky baseball has posted a GPA of 3.0 or higher in each of the last eight years, adding to its success on the field, which culminated in the program's first Horizon League Tournament Championship and Division I NCAA Tournament berth in 2024.
