Women’s Golf finishes ninth at Colonel Classic

RICHMOND, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse women's golf headed down to Richmond on Monday and Tuesday to compete in the Colonel Classic, hosted by Eastern Kentucky University and held at the University Club at Arlington. The Norse finished ninth out of ten competing teams, finishing 113 strokes over par. 

Leading the Norse was Kenna Jenkinson, who finished tied for seventh at +15, ten strokes out of first. Jenkinson put up scores of 79 and 80 on day one, but finished strong with a 72 on the 72-par course on Tuesday to finish with a 231. 

Behind Jenkinson was Eva Maley, who did the opposite of Jenkinson, starting strong as she exited day one at ten-over, recording 77's in both of the first two rounds, but finished tied for 25th overall at 239 after an 85 in round three. 

Ryliann Bednar, Conlee Lindsey, and Ella Hardy all finished outside of the top 50. 

The Norse compete in their final regular season competition on April 11 & 12, competing in the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, hosted by Bowling Green State.
