TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Northern Kentucky University Norse baseball embarked on a new weekend series on Friday, taking on the #20 Florida State Seminoles at Dick Howser Stadium. Northern Kentucky's offense was stymied by a great night from Seminole pitching, getting just one hit as the Norse fell 7-3.

GAME SUMMARY
– FSU opened the scoring on a solo homer in the first inning, then doubled their advantage in the second on a pair of extra-base hits. In the top of the third, the Norse drew a pair of walks and
Hunter Friedberg laid down a great bunt to move them both into scoring position, but the Seminole pitcher airmailed the throw to first, and both runners came home, tying the game. Florida State got one back on an RBI groundout, and did the same in the fourth to make it a 4-2 ballgame. Northern Kentucky loaded the bases with just one out in the sixth, but got just one run out of it before going down in order over the final three innings as the Seminoles sealed the opener.

Logan Wilson got the start on the mound, allowing three runs and seven baserunners in three innings while striking out four.
Cody Little relieved him and allowed one run over two innings. In the sixth,
Carson French came in and allowed two runs over 1.1 innings, while fanning three batters.
Gannon Wentz finished off the game with 1.2 innings of one-run ball with a pair of strikeouts.
– NKU struggled at the plate, netting just one hit in 28 at-bats, a
Jake Paulick single in the sixth.
