BATAVIA, Ohio – Mother Nature's torrential downpours on Elks Run Golf Course over the previous 48 hours didn't dampen the scores for the opening round of the 2018 NKU Fall Classic, where the Northern Kentucky women's golf team sits 9^th through the first 36 holes of action.
 
Team Tidbits

• The Norse fired a 316 in the opening round, good for 8^th-place on the leaderboard.
• Despite improving 10 strokes and posting a 306 in round two, NKU slid one spot to 9^th by day's end.
• However, Northern Kentucky, which sits at 54-over, is part of a jumbled pack between 4^th and 9^th. Dayton sits just eight shots ahead of NKU in 4^th, with UNC Asheville (+47), Morehead State (+49), Oakland (+53) and Youngstown State (+53) all within striking distance.
• Cincinnati topes the team leaderboard at 16-over for the tournament.

 
Norse Nuggets

• Macy Wright's 2-over 73 in the second round catapulted the senior 14 spots up the leaderboard after her first round performance of 78 saw her sitting in 28^th.
• Lillian Young posted consistent 77s in both rounds and the sophomore is tied for 22.
• Kylie Lysack added a countable 81 in the first round.
• Freshman Delaney Welsh carded scores of 80-78 in her first collegiate event, with both scores being included in Northern Kentucky's team total.
