SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Northern Kentucky women's golf team found its rhythm on moving day at Tennessee Tech's Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, firing a 299 that was just one stroke shy of the school record for low round. NKU jumped three spots on the team leaderboard, moving up to fourth.
Lillian Young's even-par 71 led the charge for the Norse.
Team Tidbits
- The Norse opened with a 312 on Sunday that had them in seventh place on the leaderboard, but NKU jumped host Tennessee Tech, Carson-Newman and Lee University with a 299 on Monday.
- Northern Kentucky's 299 is the second-lowest round in school history. A third-round score of 298 at the Ball State Cardinal Classic during the 2016-17 is the school's best mark.
Norse Nuggets
- Young, who posted a 1-over 72 on Sunday, posted an even-par 71 and is tied for second on the individual leaderboard
- Wright fired a 2-over 73 and climbed into a share of 26th.
- Both Young and Wright have played the par-4s at even par and are two of just five players to shoot even par or better.
- Delaney Welsh and Kylie Lysack also contributed countable scores of 77 and 78, respectively.
