HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.– The Northern Kentucky men's golf team looks to continue the momentum from its recent victory at the EKU Intercollegiate presented by Raising Canes when it takes the course at the NKU Fall Classic. This marks the fifth year the tournament will be held, yet a change in venue will take place this year. Lassing Pointe Golf Course will host the 54-hole tournament on Monday, Sept. 23 and Tuesday, Sept 24. The event is held in memory of former Norse golfer, Andrew Jewell.
Norse Lineup
The entire roster will participate in the home event. Ty Debonis, Joseph Clark, Jacob Vrolijk, Alex Doss and Avery Green will compete for the team's countable scores. Logan Griffin, Brady Howell, Ian Rivers, Ryan Mitts and Jack Bies will play as the second quintet.
Fresh Off a Win
The Norse recently captured its first team win in the Division I era at the EKU Intercollegiate shooting 282-279-279 over the three rounds. The team sat in a tie for first place after the first two rounds of play, but eventually claimed the victory by seven strokes over UT-Martin. Joseph Clark and Avery Green not only contributed to the win, but were named co-medalists for the event with 2-under par showings.
