HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.– The Northern Kentucky women's golf team embarks on a trip to Howie-in-the-Hills, Florida, to commence the spring season in the Motor City Cup match-play event. The 54-hole event is hosted by fellow Horizon League-member, Oakland, and will unfold at Mission Inn Resort & Club.
Norse Lineup
Northern Kentucky will field Erin Durstock, Kylie Lysack, Amy Pugliano, Kelsey Wessels, Lillian Young and Delaney Welsh. Lysack, Young and Welsh return familiar to the event, as Lysack secured 1.5 points with Young and Welsh claiming a point each throughout the head-to-head matchups.
Fall Recap
The Norse competed in five events throughout the fall, earning its best finish in seventh place at the NKU Fall Classic. Lysack and Young lead the team in scoring averages at 77.93 and 79.50 strokes per round, respectively.
Tournament Tidbits
Eight teams form the bracket for the match-play event. Horizon League teams IUPUI, Oakland, UIC, NKU and Detroit Mercy are joined by Creighton, Loyola and Valparaiso.
The six Norse are set to tee it up against Creighton for the first 18-holes on Sunday morning, Feb. 9, at the par-73 Las Colinas course. The match will be followed by the afternoon session and will conclude with a final round on Monday, Feb. 10. The 6,100-yard course is also the site of the Horizon League Championship that will take place later this spring.
