HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Dayton Flyer Invitational is on tap for the Northern Kentucky women's golf team Oct. 18-19. The two-day event is hosted by the University of Dayton on the North Course at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio.
Norse Lineup
All nine Norse will compete in the event with Delaney Welsh, Emmanuelle Hewson, Abby Cook, Reagan Nolan and Hanna Hall comprising the countable scorers for NKU. Brooke Bihl, Rachel DiDonato, Gracie Baun and Kayla Matson are competing as individuals.
Last Time Out
Northern Kentucky finished 10th at the Butler Fall Invitational in the team's last event. The Norse fired rounds of 306 and 302 on day one, which are the two lowest of the season. Abby Cook shot a team-leading 228 in the tournament.
Really Cooking Now
Although just two matches and six rounds into the season, Cook has been whipping up some good golf. She fired a 71 in the opening round at Butler, which is tied for the sixth-best round ever by a Norse and was one stroke off of tying the program record 70. Her 228 in the event is also tied for the 8th best 54-hole total in school history.
Tournament Tidbits
UD's event is a 36-hole format, with a single round being contested each day over the two days. Tee times are set for 10:30 a.m. both days. NCR Country Club's North Course is a par-70 layout that will play at just over 5,900-yards.
Bellarmine, Butler, Cleveland State, Dayton, Eastern Illinois, Northern Kentucky, Ohio, Ohio State, UIndy, Valparaiso and Youngstown State comprise the 11-team field.
