HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – In its final competition of the calendar year, Northern Kentucky women's golf travels to Arden, North Carolina, for the French Broad Collegiate Invitational hosted by UNC Asheville. The three-day tournament begins Nov. 8.
Norse Lineup
Senior Delaney Welsh leads a trio of sophomores and a freshman as part of NKU's five-woman team. Second-year Norse Emmanuelle Hewson, Abby Cook and Hannah Hall as well as newcomer Reagan Nolan join Welsh. Freshman Gracie Baun will tee it up as an individual.
Last Time Out
The Norse last competed at the Dayton Fall Invitational, where they tied for seventh among the 12-team field. With all five players carding scores in the 70s, NKU used the final round to jump two places on the leaderboard. Welsh was the highest finishing player, tying for 17th with rounds of 76-76.
Rounding To Form
Through the first four fall events, three players are averaging less than 79 strokes per round Cook leads the three at 77.13, while Welsh and Hewson check in at 78.55 and 78.82, respectively.
Tournament Tidbits
A single round will be played each day of the tournament, which is being held at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, a 5,947-yard, par-71 course. Players will tee off on holes Nos. 1 and 2 beginning at 10 a.m. each day.
Northern Kentucky and UNC Asheville will be joined by Eastern Kentucky, Lipscomb, Western Carolina, Wofford, USC Upstate, Longwood, Gardner-Webb, Belmont, High Point, Appalachian State and Radford.
