2023 NKU WOMEN'S SOCCER SCHEDULE
 
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's soccer program has announced their 2023 schedule on Thursday as head coach Bob Sheehan is set to begin his 27th season patrolling the sidelines at NKU. The 2023 slate features 17 matches in total, broken down into seven non-conference contests and 10 Horizon League clashes.
 
The Norse will also play in three exhibition contests to get ready for the upcoming campaign which includes two matchups against Power Five programs and a home showdown with rival Cincinnati in a friendly on Sunday, August 13 at NKU Soccer Stadium.
 
"We always challenge ourselves in our non-conference competition to help to prepare for Horizon League play," an excited Sheehan said. "This year is no different, with high-level opponents throughout the non-conference segment. We are coming off of a strong Spring season, and together with the addition of our newcomers, we are looking forward to a productive campaign." 
 
NKU will kick off the season with three exhibition matches, starting with two fixtures on the road as the Norse head to Kentucky on Saturday, August 5, followed by a trip to Shawnee State on Wednesday, August 9. Northern Kentucky then returns home to host cross river rival Cincinnati on Sunday, August 13.
 
The regular season will commence with the home opener on Thursday, August 17 against Western Michigan. The Norse then hit the road for a showdown against Bellarmine on Sunday, August 20 before returning for another home clash with Miami (Ohio) on Thursday, August 24. The month of August ends with a road match against Louisville on Sunday, August 27.
 
As the calendar turns to September, the Norse will be away for two more non-conference matches; at Ohio on Sunday, September 3 and at Eastern Kentucky University on Thursday, September 7. NKU will then return to Highland Heights for its final non-conference match with a showdown against Morehead State on Sunday, September 10. It is then Horizon League play from that point on. The Norse open their conference's campaign at home against IUPUI on Thursday, September 14. NKU will then hit the road once again for matches against Youngstown State (Sunday, September 17) and Oakland (Thursday, September 21) before two straight home contests against Purdue Fort Wayne (Thursday, September 24) and Milwaukee (Saturday, September 30) to end the month.
 
October gets underway with a road trip to Green Bay on Thursday, October 5. The Norse then return to Highland Heights to face Cleveland State on Sunday, October 8. The regular season concludes with matches at Robert Morris (Sunday, October 15), at home against Detroit Mercy (Saturday, October 21) and the regular-season finale at Wright State (Wednesday, October 25).
