Norse Track and Field wins a trio of events, eleven top-five finishes at Gem City Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Northern Kentucky University men's and women's track and field programs competed at the Gem City Invitational, hosted by the University of Dayton this past weekend. Plenty of notable performances occurred for the Norse at the meet, as Stetson Childress and Jacob Line earned distance race victories, while the women's 4x400 team also earned a win.

NOTABLES
- Stetson Childress claimed a victory in the men's 5000m race with a time of 15:19.22. 
- Jacob Line also claimed a distance victory, running an 8:37.11 in the men's 3000m run.
- The Northern Kentucky Women triumphed in the 4x400 relay, running a 3:51.82.
- Cameron Bitterman finished in second in the women's 400m dash, running a 56.49. Olivia Kennedy followed her in fourth, running a 57.16.
- Alden Williams (6.62m) and Kaden Gardner (6.55m) earned podium finishes in the long jump, finishing in second and third, respectively. Williams also finished second in the triple jump, leaping 12.88m.
- Both of Northern Kentucky's men's teams finished in the top four in the 4x400 relay, grabbing third and fourth-place finishes. 
- Kayla Willging lept 3.40m in the pole vault, a fourth-place finish. 
- Meredith Goff nabbed a fifth-place finish in the women's 200m dash, while Madison McDaniel followed her up with a time of 25.98.
- Lacey Klare finished in sixth place in the 60m hurdles, running a 9.43.
- Brittany Arnold (5:11.57) and Macie Radcliffe (5:12.31) finished in sixth and seventh, respectively, in the women's mile. 
- Grace Biddle nabbed a seventh-place finish in the 800m run, finishing in 2:15.79.
- Four Norse finished in the top ten in the men's 800m run, as Brayden Holland (1:55.81), Jacob Messer (1:55.86), Gregory Beard (1:56.52), and Preston Winiger (1:57.08) finished in sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth, respectively. 
 
NEXT UP
Northern Kentucky University splits up its team to travel to two separate meets next week, heading to the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan and the MSJ February Invitational at Mount St. Joseph on February 14-15.
