Four Norse claim victories to open outdoor season at Miami’s Blizzard Buster

OXFORD, Ohio - The Northern Kentucky Men's and Women's track and field opened up their outdoor season on Friday, heading north to the campus of Miami University to compete in the Blizzard Buster. Four Norse (Cameron Bitterman, 200m, Olivia Kennedy, 400m, Brayden Holland, 800m, and Natnael Weldemichael, 3000m) all collected wins on the day.

NOTABLES (WOMEN)
- Cameron Bitterman won the 200m race by nearly half a second, finishing in 24.89. 
- Olivia Kennedy won the 400m race in 58.03. 
- Lacey Klare grabbed a second-place finish in the 100m hurdles, running a 15.27. 
- Kayla Willging finished fifth in the pole vault clearing a mark of 3.45m. 
- Grace Biddle (4:45.33) finished fifth in the 1500m race out of 31 competitors. 
- Julia Pohl finished fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.65m, along with three other athletes. 

NOTABLES (MEN)
- NKU's distance duo of Natnael Weldemichael (8:37.54) and Colton O'Hara (8:38.42) finished first and second in the 3000m run. 
- Brayden Holland won the 400m dash in a blistering 50.71. He also finished seventh in the 800m, running a 1:58.58.
- Jacob Line finished second in the men's 1500m run, in a time of 4:00.82.
- Nathan Ruth finished third in the men's steeplechase, finishing in 9:54.21.
- Charlie Casey finished fifth in the 110m hurdles, in a time of 16.40.
- In field events, Evan Talley grabbed a fourth-place finish in the triple jump (12.69m) while Josh Brockman finished fourth in the pole vault (3.90m). 

NEXT UP
Select runners will head to the Adidas Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State from March 27-29. Additionally, Northern Kentucky will head to Cedarville for the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open on March 29.
