INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Kentucky University Norse pitcher
Alicia Flores picked up Horizon League honors following a stellar week in the circle, being named the conference's Pitcher of the Week. It marked the second time in her career that Flores earned the distinction, as she was named the top arm in the league after the opening week in 2025.
"Our team is so proud of Alicia's pitching performance this weekend," said head coach
Morgan Gerak. "Her competitive presence set the tone and It was a joy to see her moxie on the mound!"
Flores had a weekly ERA of 1.27 in 11 innings pitched, ending the week with a pair of wins in Louisville. She started off the week by throwing four innings against Bellarmine, allowing a pair of runs while striking out three batters in the victory. Flores then followed that up with a complete-game shutout of Western Illinois, allowing just three hits and no walks in the dominant victory.
It marks the second Horizon League Pitcher of the Week award given to a Norse this season, as freshman
Makaree Chapman earned the honor on February 7.
Flores and the Norse have the week off before taking on Louisville on Tuesday, March 3.
