Norse Women’s Soccer adds Zsofia Jakab to 2026 Class

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse women's soccer announced its third signing of the 2026 class on Friday, as Zsofia Jakab will join Zellie Barnes and Camryn Koski. 

"Zsofia comes from a strong soccer background and has been immersed in the game from an early age," said Norse head coach Bob Sheehan. "She brings outstanding vision, technical skill, and a natural ability to find the back of the net. We're excited to welcome Zsofia to Northern Kentucky University and look forward to the impact she'll make on our soccer program!"

A native of Copley, Ohio, Zsofia Jakab was a standout at Revere High School, where she holds the school's single-season & career assists records. At Revere, she was named First Team All-District, First Team Greater Akron, and First Team All-Conference all four years in high school. Over her career, she logged 46 goals and 47 assists and served as a two-time varsity captain. In both her junior and senior campaigns, she was named the All-District Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-State, and First Team All-Region. This past season, she was named to the All-American watch list and was tabbed the Player of the Game at the  Greater Akron All-Star Game. 

Jakab has a family history of athletics, as her father, Sandor, played semi-professional soccer in the Lake Erie league, her uncle, Jozsef, was a kicker for Akron Zips football in the early 1990s, and her brother, Sandor, also played soccer in high school, being named a high school All-American.
