Norse sweep #HLSB weekly awards as DiMemmo, Flores honored

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse softball honored its 2026 senior class ahead of Saturday's doubleheader with Robert Morris, and two of those seniors, Brielle DiMemmo and Alicia Flores, turned it up a notch this weekend with key performances. DiMemmo earned Horizon League Player of the Week honors while Flores was named the Pitcher of the Week as they led the Norse to a series victory over Robert Morris 

"Alicia and Brielle led our team so well this weekend with their competitive presence," stated Norse head coach Morgan Gerak. "I'm so proud of their work at practice this week, not only on the game but also their leadership. It showed up in big moments all weekend!"

DiMemmo earned Player of the Week honors for the second time in her career, as she was also named Player of the Week in the 2025 campaign. In three games against Robert Morris, DiMemmo slashed .500/.500/1.000, batting 5-10 with five runs scored, two RBI, two triples, and a double. In the series finale, she hit 3-4 with two triples, three runs scored, and two RBI, and batted in the would-be winning run as NKU won 9-4.

Alicia Flores won her third career Pitcher of the Week award with her nod on Monday, as she earned the honor earlier this season and once in 2025. Flores was instrumental in NKU's series victory over the Colonials, finishing the week with a 2-0 record. She threw 9.2 innings with a 2.90 ERA and nine strikeouts over two appearances. In the series opener on Friday, Flores pitched all five innings as the Norse run-ruled RMU in a 12-2 victory, allowing eight baserunners and one earned run while striking out five batters. She also got the start in the finale and threw 4.2 innings, allowing three runs while striking out four batters. 

DiMemmo, Flores, and the Norse are back in action on Tuesday to take on Miami (OH).
