Day Two ResultsGLENCOE, Ala. – The Northern Kentucky women's golf team rebounded from a rough opening round in the Chris Banister Classic. NKU climbed one spot on the leaderboard after the team carded a 317 on the second day of competition.
Sophomore
Kennedy Windlan also improved one spot on the leaderboard after posting her second-straight 77 (+5) and is tied-11
th.
Eight of the nine Norse golfers playing in the event carded rounds that were at least equal to or better than their day one totals.
Kristen Smith led the charge with the low round of the day, shooting a 2-over 74 to move into a tie for 22
nd. Smith (158) dropped 10 strokes off of her Sunday total.
Sarah Kellam and
Taylor Wogenstahl followed suit, posting rounds of 79 (+7) each. Kellam (166) moved into a tie for 40
th, while Wogenstahl (169) now sits in a trio all even in 49
th.
The Norse then received four scores in descending order from five different players, starting with an 82 from Ryliegh Waltz.
Allison Leigeb continued the string with an 83 and then
Tara Clark (84),
Allisa Davis (85) and MacKenzie Laumann (85) rounded out the stretch.
Both team and individual scores have bounced all over during the first team rounds. Austin Peay went from a 326 on day one to a 347 on day two. NKU was on the opposite side, following a 337 with a 317 to card the biggest positive turnaround.
The Chris Banister Classic concludes with the final round of 18 on Tuesday morning. A 7:30 a.m. start is scheduled.
