NKU Wraps Up Play In FGCU Eagles Invitational

Sarah Kellam carded the low-round of the day for NKU, while Ryleigh Waltz earned the team's highest finish in the tourney.

Final Results

ESTERO, Fla. – The Northern Kentucky University women's golf team wrapped up play in its first competition of the spring season on Sunday, earning a 12th-place finish at the FGCU Eagle Invitational.
 
Sophomore Sarah Kellam led the Norse with a 9-over day, which included a pair of birdies on holes Nos. 5 and 15. Kellam closed the tournament tied for 46th.
 
Ryleigh Waltz carded a 15-over and finished the invitational in a four-way tie for 33rd to pace Northern Kentucky on the individual leaderboard.
 
A birdie on the fifth hole helped Tara Clark on her way to a 14-over final round. Allisa Davis and Allison Leigeb both shot rounds of 19-over for NKU's five-woman team.
 
Consecutive birdies on the seventh and eighth holes lifted Shelby Power, who competed as an individual, to an 83 on the afternoon, NKU's second-lowest round of the day. MacKenzie Laumann carded a 16-over in the final round.
 
Northern Kentucky will take to the course again in two weeks when it heads west for the Red Rocks Invitational hosted by Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, Arizona.
