Norse Close Day One Of Red Rocks Invitational

Ryleigh Waltz continues to lead the Norse through the early portion of the spring season.

Day One Results

SEDONA, Ariz. – In a loaded field at the Red Rocks Invitational hosted by Northern Arizona, the Northern Kentucky women's golf team closed the first day of competition in 19th place with a team score of 331. Ryleigh Waltz led the charge for the Norse, carding a 6-over-78.
 
Sarah Kellam (82), Taylor Wogenstahl (85) and Kristen Smith (86) posted rounds that were included in NKU's Day 1 total. Kennedy Windlan shot an 88 to round out Northern Kentucky's quintet.
 
Participating as individuals, Allisa Davis matched Wogenstahl's 85 and Katie-Scarlett Skinner equaled Windlan's 88. Molly Arnold was the final Norse individual and she posted a round of 91.
 
Northern Arizona leads the pack after totaling a 301 on Friday, while Grand Canyon's Charlotte Jaengkit shot the low round of the day at 3-under.
 
Sitting just ahead of the Norse and within striking distance is Mesa Community College, which combined to shoot 330 for the round.
 
The final round of the tournament is slated for a 10 a.m. (MT) start in Sedona, Arizona.
