ST. GEORGE, Utah – Northern Kentucky shed four-strokes from its opening round score and wrapped up the Lady Thunderbird Invitational in 12th place on Friday afternoon.
The Norse followed a 321 in Thursday's round with a score of 317 on Friday.
Kennedy Windlan carded the low round of the afternoon for NKU, shooting a 6-over-par 78 to climb into a tie for 29th at14-over-par. She finished one-stroke behind Sarah Kellam, who posted rounds of 78-79 en route to sharing 27th with one other golfer.
Ryleigh Waltz and Tara Clark tallied NKU's other two-countable scores with each golfer posting rounds of 80. An 83 from Taylor Wogenstahl closed out Northern Kentucky's quintet of golfers.
Kristen Smith equaled Waltz's two-day total of 160 after posting rounds of 79-81. Smith joined MacKenzie Laumann and Allison Leigeb playing as individuals. Laumann shot a final round 85, while Leigeb notched an 83.
The Norse will stay out West for South Dakota State's Jackrabbit Invitational in Primm, Nevada, this coming Monday and Tuesday, March 16-17.
