PRIMM, Nev. – At the conclusion of the first two rounds of golf in the Jackrabbit Invitational on Monday evening,
Sarah Kellam's 6-over-par total has the Northern Kentucky women's golf team sharing seventh place.
Kellam and
Kennedy Windlan posted identical 77s in the opening round, before Kellam found her grove en route to carding a 73 on the second 18. Windlan was a mere two strokes back with a 75 in the second round.
Ryleigh Waltz fired off a 76 to open the day and lead NKU out of the gate. She finished 8-over-par on the afternoon, following a second 18 where she posted a 78.
The final pair of NKU's scoring quintet,
Kristen Smith and
Taylor Wogenstahl, carded matching scores of 79. Smith shaved three strokes off her opening total and Wogenstahl dropped one.
The Norse put together two solid rounds as a team, combining for scores of 309 and 302, and are tied with South Dakota.
Allison Leigeb led a trio of Norse competing as individuals. After firing an opening 75, Leigeb closed her day with a 79.
Tara Clark (82-81) and
MacKenzie Laumann (85-83) also took to the course.
Host institution South Dakota State leads the pack after shooting 1-under-par Monday. Grand Canyon's Charlotte Jaengkit sits atop the individual leaderboard at 6-under.
Northern Kentucky will head to the tee boxes on Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. (CT) for the conclusion of the tournament.
