A powerful hitter from the right side of the plate, Heeter set every NKU record for home runs and runs batted in during his career. Heeter slugged 48 career homers at NKU, including a single-season record of 18 during the 1990 campaign. He also drove in 174 runs during his career to finish No. 1 all-time in school history in that category. Heeter tied an NKU single-season record as a junior by finishing with an .861 slugging percentage. He helped NKU earn two berths in the NCAA Division II Tournament during his career, and the 1989 team posted a 45-9 record and came within one out of advancing to the NCAA Division II World Series. Heeter was the first NKU player to hit three homers in a game, and he routinely hit prodigious blasts out of Friendship Field. Heeter earned All-GLVC and All-Region honors his junior and senior campaigns. He also earned a Career Achievement Award from NKU in 1991. NKU posted a 135 – 63 record during his four years, including a 48-19 mark in the GLVC.
